The following data visualizations are a small sample of the preliminary research that was conducted early on in the project.

Dataset Overview:

Our society has seen a rapid decrease in personal face-to-face interaction over the past few years, and this is in part due to the rapid rise of technology, social media, and the internet in general. The following dataset is based on a case study that analyzed the amount of time users spent on the internet in 2000 as compared to 2011. The data specifically looks at how various factors, such as age, education, and income, relate to internet usage. The dataset not only shows the evolution of internet adoption in general, but the relationships that the various categories have with one another as well.

2 Methods of Visualization:

1) Line graphs: X-axis = time. Y-axis = internet usage.

2) Bar chart: X-axis = categories/time (2000 vs. 2011 compared side by side). Y-axis = internet usage.
